Every unsatisfied customer needs to be heard. Remember the rule of thumb: One good customer can generate 20 more but every bad customer could possibly effect 70 more buyers. Most unhappy customers can be the best customer when they can vent their frustration out and someone takes time to listen or even tries to help solve the problem in the future. Every company has some negative publicity. The key is to turn that negative into a postive.
The best way to get out of a `sales slump` is to take a substantially different approach to your day. Rather than rushing out and stressing out to get a sale - because it`s your quota - change your objective! Make your objective for one day to just go out and have `fun`. Don`t try to `sell` anything. If you begin your prospect calls and customer calls with the objective to have `fun`, you`ll be surprized at the response you`ll get...and you may even be surprised when a new prospect decides to `buy` :-)

A little phrase that brings this home is: "You can't get what you want until you know what you want." This is so true in a sales professional's life ... and RESULTS. Set those goals - know what you want! Then...make them happen!
There is absolutely no prospect out there that you can not get for your company. The secret of the super star sales pros is that once they decide what prospect they want - they stop at nothing until that prospect becomes a customer. It may take time, it may take going above and beyond the norm; however, if you truly want a particular customer, YOU CAN DO IT.
When a sales professional has 'energy', it can be positive or negative. Positive energy is when people are willing to go the extra mile to solve a problem for a customer. They are able to share positive input, new ideas, and feedback with their peers, and have the desire to go out and do their job...with JOY! Positive energy is when our sales professionals get excited about seeing their prospects, their customers, and look forward to every day with energy to spare & share. So, when you have 'positive' energy - the world is in your hands. Negative energy? Nah, I don't even want to 'think' about that!
Emotional selling is important but remember selling is the game of "I have something you want and you have something I want". Meaning you have a product and its up to you to convince the buyer he needs that product so that you will get what you want, a sale a/k/a money.
Selling is about fullfilling a need, want and desire.
When you `know` you need to start prospecting on the phone or cold-calling on new prospects, yet you `dread` it to the core of your being - the best way to get over it is to (as Nike used to say) "JUST DO IT". Making that first initial effort will get you started and from that one on - it will be a breeze.
