To get your foot in the door for a sales interview, you must do something that will make `YOU` stand out from all the rest. It`s very similar to selling your product or service. You want to be different, better, and be able to provide the perfect solution for the company needing to hire a new sales professional. When I`m in the hiring mode, I look for people who stand out from all the rest, even if their background is not exactly what I`m looking for. Some of these people call and ask for me personally, bring their resume by in person, send handwritten notes to express interest, etc. These are the folks who will get the chance to tell me in person `why` they are the perfect candidate. If they can`t get to me in person with their resume, I look for people who follow directions and still STAND OUT FROM ALL THE REST.
